Curious how creator selection works? Our Creative and Community teams review every application to find the best fit for each brief. Here's what happens behind the scenes.

When does creator selection take place?

We actively review applications throughout the application period, so applying early is encouraged. That said, every creator is still considered right up until applications close ⏰.

Selected creators may be contacted at any point during the application period, with final decisions confirmed once applications close.

How will I know if I'm selected for a brief?

If you're selected, we'll send you an email inviting you to accept the brief 📧 The brief will also appear in your Active Briefs tab.

Haven't received an email? Be sure to check your spam or junk folder as well, just in case it was filtered there

⚠️ Heads up: Once invited, you’ll have 12 hours to accept or decline. After that, the opportunity will be passed to another creator.

Accept the brief and you'll unlock the full brief details, along with a downloadable asset pack so you can get started 🚀

How to improve your chances of being selected?

Here are a few things that really help us when reviewing applications:

  1. ℹ️ Share as much relevant info as you can when completing your profile and applying. The application survey is your chance to show us why you’re the right fit for the brief.

  2. 🎨 Keep your portfolio fresh and up to date with your strongest, most recent work. This helps the team get a clear picture of your current style and creative strengths.

  3. ✔️ Apply, apply, apply. You can apply to as many briefs as you like! This helps us balance creators across projects and increases your chances of being selected.

You can update your portfolio link anytime in your settings. For extra tips, check out our Top tips for improving your CGC portfolio article.

✅ Good to know: If you’ve worked with Vidsy before, your past work will also be taken into account when reviewing new applications.

Why wasn't I selected for a brief?

Selection isn’t based on a single factor. When reviewing applications, our Creative and Community teams take a holistic view of each submission, including your responses, portfolio, content style, and how well you match the brief requirements.

We also aim to build a diverse mix of creators for each project. This means we’re balancing different styles, skill sets, and creative approaches, so selection can naturally vary depending on who applies to each brief.

In many cases, not being selected simply comes down to competition. With more creators applying to briefs than ever before, the quality of submissions is very high, which makes selection more competitive across projects.

We also consider past performance on Vidsy. Creators who consistently deliver strong work on briefs may be more likely to be selected for future opportunities, as we aim to reward proven experience while still supporting new talent.

That said, we’ve always got more opportunities coming, and we’d love to see you land one soon. ✨

I haven't been selected in a while, is my account still active?

Yes! Your account is still active on Vidsy 🙌 Not being selected for a while won’t affect your account status or make it inactive.
